Man posing as staff of Sen. Go nabbed for swindling

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A man who claimed to be a staff of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go was arrested for swindling in a police entrapment operation on Tuesday afternoon in San Jose, Batangas.

The suspect, Arnel Sequijor, was nabbed upon the complaint of the chief of staff of San Jose Mayor Valentin Patron.

The suspect, according to the victim’s complaint, identified himself as Sen. Bong Go’s staff and demanded P50,000 through text messages and phone calls.

The victim reported the matter to the San Jose Municipal Station which immediately dispatched a team for the entrapment operation against the suspect.

They met the suspect in Barangay Pinagtung-ulan of the said town, where he was arrested after the complainant gave him the P5,000 marked money.

Confiscated from the suspect were a .45-caliber pistol, bullets, and magazines placed in a body bag; and a cellular phone.

Cases of swindling and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition will be filed against the suspect. (Danny Estacio)
