Get that sun

With Covid-19 and your friends getting sick and dying, you realize that human life is frail.

That life can be taken away in a snap.

Watching Showti, my Aldabra tortoise, makes me realize that worrying does not add another hour of life if it’s our time to go.

Showti just eats grass the whole day. He basks under the sun and God, his maker, takes care of him. He can live to 200 years.

I figure we are far more blessed than Showti. We are God’s children. He created us in His image and likeness, fearfully and wonderfully made!

So it seems, Showti is telling me, ‘’Relax ka lang, Kuya Kim, God’s got our back.’’

TRIVIA PA MORE (Various Sources): Speaking of being under the sun, doctors recommend we should all expose ourselves to the sun to get our dose of Vitamin D.

This vitamin is essential in enhancing our immune system to fight Covid-19. The best time to go under the sun is from early morning till about 10 a.m.

Did you know that sunlight has the magical capacity to alter our mood and cheer us up?

Sunlight is a natural pill to prevent anxiety and depression.

Long before the discovery of antibiotics, sunlight was being used to treat patients with tuberculosis.

People from countries in the western hemisphere where there is winter have low vitamin D levels. These can drop to as much as 50 per cent during winter.

We are still luckier. Having no winter, we have the sun the whole year round.
