Town cop chief killed in Cotabato shooting






DAVAO CITY – The chief of Carmen Municipal Police Station in Cotabato province was killed while conducting a hot pursuit operation against the suspects who shot dead a foreign national.

Based on the report of Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), a foreigner was killed in a shooting incident around 9:30 am Tuesday in Sitio Tawan-tawan, Purok 4, Poblacion. The identity of the foreigner was also unavailable as of press time.

Police Maj. Joan Resurreccion led a group of police in a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.
However, during the chase at the quarry site in Purok 4, the officer was shot by the suspects.

Resurreccion died while undergoing treatment at the Carmen Municipal Hospital. (Zea Capistrano)
