PSC Chairman William "Butch" Ramirez (center) believes Filipino athletes have what it takes to be overall champions once again.

Chef de Mission and PSC Chairman William Ramirez initiated the creation of a set of criteria for selection to the national team for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, last week.

“It is important for us to be transparent,” explained Ramirez, adding that it having a selection criteria will also ensure “that we field the best among them since the success of the Games hinges on the performance of our athletes.”

The national sports associations have been informed to submit credentials of their athletes so the secretariat is ready with them once the CDM team has finalized the selection guidelines. Ramirez informed that they expect to finalize this by end of this week.

Meantime, the national secretariat has announced last Friday the submission of line-up and credentials following a series of NSA meetings and consultation with Ramirez, and PSC Commissioners Arnold Agustin, Ramon Fernandez, Celia Kiram and Charles Maxey.
