Tyron Chan and Judel Fuentes added 13 points apiece for CEU, which showed little signs of rust after a three-week layoff.

Coach Derrick Pumaren lauded his boys for playing with resolve against a Trinity side that dropped to a 0-5 slate.

In the other game, McDavid held off FamilyMart-Enderun, 73-68, to pick up its first win after a 0-4 start.

Michoele Sorela scored 22 points while Janus Lozada added 14 as McDavid nearly squandered a 19-point lead to end.

Meanwhile, Aspirants Group leader St. Clare College-Virtual Reality faces its first acid test against Cignal-Ateneo today at the same venue.

The Saints look to extend their perfect slate to five games against the Blue Eagles, who holds a 4-1 record, in the 1 p.m. match.

In the first game set at 11 a.m., City of Valencia-San Sebastian and Wangs Basketball, both carrying identical 3-1 slates, seek to tie Metropac-San Beda for second in the Aspirants Group.
