President Duterte said yesterday that he is letting Congress decide on changes in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

“Well, the law was enacted by Congress, I’ll leave it to Congress to decide whether or not to amend or suspend or modify the law,” Duterte said before leaving for a three-day visit to South Korea.

TRAIN took effect in January and raised fuel excise taxes, levies on sweetened beverages, and lowered some personal income taxes, among others. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
