Help your favorite candidate in the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 beauty pageant enter the Top 15 of the prestigious local beauty contest via online fan voting.
PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications, along with its digital innovations arm Voyager Innovations, powers the SMS and digital fan voting of the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 beauty pageant where the winner of the text votes will automatically enter the Top 15 semifinalists.
This would mark the first time in the 54-year history of the Bb. Pilipinas contest that it is adopting an interactive process dubbed “People’s Choice Award.”
“As we saw during the country’s hosting of the 65th Miss Universe last January, pageant competitions have become more digital like never before. We’re glad that the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 will be putting the power of digital into the hands of millions of Filipino fans this time. We all therefore will be given a chance to vote for our bets, powered by the combined digital technologies of Smart and Voyager,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT, Smart and Voyager.

Votes will be counted from April 26, 2017 until 9 p.m. of April 30, 2017 during the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night.
“This year is extraordinary – from the beauties to the show – and is even more exciting because we are letting people vote for their candidate of choice through technology, a first in the pageant’s 54 years,” said Stella Marquez Araneta, chair of Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI), during a press conference held at the Novotel in Cubao, Quezon City last Wednesday.
Ramon Isberto, Smart Communications Head, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, said that fans can vote for their favorite candidates an unlimited number of times during the voting period.
“It’s very nice that Binibining Pilipinas has now become more interactive. We’re looking forward to work with Binibining Pilipinas in a more interactive process,” said Isberto.
Subscribers of all mobile networks can send in their votes to the SMS gateway powered by Voyager.
Aside from voting via SMS, fans also have the chance to pick this year’s Most Photogenic Queen by participating in the online voting via the Binibining Pilipinas website www.bbpilipinas.com/vote.

Forty candidates are competing for the six titles at the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 beauty contest.
The Binibining Pilipinas grand coronation night will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on April 30, to be telecast live on ABS-CBN.
