PBA: Tubid fined

PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa has penalized San Miguel Beer veteran guard Ronald Tubid for his actions that left Meralco sophomore Chris Newsome with a welt on his right eye during their Commissiner’s Cup game last Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tubid, a 15-year pro, has been fined P30,000 by Narvasa and will also serve a two-game suspension on his Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 on Newsome.

Tubid and Newsome were battling for a rebound when the SMB guard hit the Meralco player with a close fist with 9:12 left in the final quarter.

Because of the F2 call, the 35-year-old Tubid was ejected from the game.
