PARIS (AFP) – The Swiss ambassador to the OECD was nabbed in Paris for drunk driving after a high-speed chase in which police shot out one of the tires on his car, a police source said on Tuesday. An inmate suffering from tuberculosis committed suicide by hanging himself inside an infirmary cell of the Pasay City Jail, police reported yesterday. Maximo Layoso, 53 of Block 7, Lot 11, Santol Street, Barrio Sto. Niño, was already dead when he was discovered by a fellow inmate on Monday morning. A shoe lace was looped around his neck and tied to a nail above his bed.
