P9.8-M marijuana burned

CAMP BADO DANGWA, Benguet – Police and anti-narcotics operatives in the Cordillera destroyed some P9.8 million worth of marijuana plants in Benguet during a two-day operation from Dec.28 to 29.

Combined elements of the Benguet Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC), Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), and Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) discovered six plantation sites with a total land area of 6,100 square meters planted with 30,500 fully grown marijuana worth P6,100,000 in Sitio Lengey and Walayan, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet, on Dec. 28.

The following day, the same operatives destroyed P3,775,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in Sitio’s Les-eng and Todag of Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet.

The uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site and only samples were brought to the Benguet Provincial Police Office for evidence. (Zaldy Comanda)
