Manila, Philippines – Malacañang on Thursday said there is no directive from President Benigno S. Aquino III to his Cabinet officials to tender a courtesy resignation at the end of the year.
Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., in a press briefing yesterday, said there is no tall order from the President for his Cabinet men to hand over a courtesy resignation.
Past administrations had seen Cabinet officials tendering their courtesy resignation to give the
Chief Executive a free hand to pick his Cabinet officials at the beginning of the year.
Coloma however said there is no likely scenario for the Aquino administration, noting that the Cabinet is “relatively stable.”
“The President is the final arbiter of who works with him in the Cabinet, and, of course, every member of that Cabinet serves at his pleasure and subject to his full trust and confi dence,” Coloma said. (Madel Sabater- Namit)
