Sex scandals, calamities, good economy in 2014

By ROBERT R. REQUINTINA

Fire HorseManila, Philippines – A popular Feng Shui expert predicted yesterday that 2014 will be a hot year and that the country should brace for a tropical cyclone as strong as typhoon “Yolanda.”

“Napakanainit na panahon ang expected natin sa 2014. Rain will be less causing havoc to the agriculture industry,’’ said popular Feng Shui Master Hanz Cua in his annual forecast during an exclusive interview in Mandaluyong City.

Master Cua said there is a possibility that another tropical cyclone near the strength of Yolanda will hit the country.

“2014 will be Year of the Fire Horse. Based on my readings, the Wood and Fire elements will be dominant next year. And because it will be hot year, madaling mag-evaporate ang tubig. This might result to strong weather disturbances. May nakikita ako na halos kasing lakas ni super typhoon Yolanda. Expect na rin natin ang heavy rains and more floods,’’ said Master Cua, Feng Shui master to some of the country’s celebrities and personalities.

With Fire as one of the prevailing elements, expect heated arguments, anger, and even war in the forefront. Master Cua added that there will be a disease of pandemic proportion that might be experienced in the country between April and September.

The Peach Blossom star will also make an appearance in 2014 as sex scandals and love triangles continue to heat up. “Magiging mainit ang mga tao pag-dating sa pag-ibig. Mapusok at hindi sila maawat when it comes to love,’’ Master Cua said. More weddings are also expected with 2014 as it is another good year to get married.

But the good news is that the Philippines will maintain a good economic growth in 2014, he said. The economy will rise in April which is a good month to invest in stocks, Master Cua said.

Someone from the Far East will also become popular, while tensions in the Middle East and Korea will escalate, Master Cua predicted.

Lucky businesses for 2014 include telecommunications that belong to the Metal element and restaurants under the Fire Element. The agriculture sector will not be good in 2014 because of the dry season.

Sectors deemed lucky in 2014 are southwest, south, west, and center while northeast, east, and southeast are considered unlucky.

Lucky colors next year are red, orange, yellow, and green, Master Cua said.

In 2014, the Yellow Misfortune Star will sit on the northwest, Master Cua forecast. “Yan ang isa sa inaabangan ng mga tao kung saan tatama ang Misfortune Star.”

This year, 2013, the Yellow Misfortune Star affected the center sector. “Nagkaroon ng lindol at malakas na bagyo sa central part ng ating bansa.’’

Last year 2012, the Misfortune Star hit the east sector where a tsunami devastated Japan, an Asian country located on the east.

But Master Cua, who is also into face reading, Chinese astrology, and tarot and palm reading, said that problems on Feng Shui can be cured with correct practice and charm.

2014 is the Year of the Fire Horse based on the 12-year animal cycle that appears in the Chinese zodiac. While the tradition originated from China, Filipinos have embraced the culture of Feng Shui for many years now. The Chinese New Year will be on January 31, 2014.

Animals signs compatible with the Year of the Horse are Ram, Dog, and Tiger. Animals not compatible with the Year of the Fire Horse are Monkey, Ox, Rat, and Horse.
