Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has issued a total ban on the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to South Sudan due to violence in that country.
The POEA Governing Board signed Resolution No. 14 last December 24 imposing the total deployment ban of new hires and returning OFWs to South Sudan.
The resolution was duly signed by Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) Secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz and POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac.
The ban was imposed after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) raised the Crisis Alert Level on South Sudan to Alert Level 3 last December 23. (Carlo S. Suerte Felipe)
