P10-M shabu seized from foreigner in QC

Manila, Philippines – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested Saturday afternoon a foreign drug trader and seized P10 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

Director Derrick Carreon, PDEA media chief, identified the arrested suspect as Weimou Shi, 40, billeted at 1212 Harrison Mansion, Malate, Manila.

Carreon said that the suspect was arrested during a buy-bust operation at around 4 p.m. Saturday on NIA Road at the back of the Eton Centris mall in Diliman.

Operatives of the PDEA’s Special Enforcement Service (SES) were able to confiscate from the suspect around two kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, packed in tea bags.

Carreon said the seized shabu has a street value of around P10 million.

Operatives also confiscated from the suspect a Hyundai Accent with conduction sticker MK0019 which the suspect used in transporting the illegal drugs to the area where he met a PDEA agent who posed as a buyer. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
