TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite – Four persons died yesterday morning on Wednesday while a teenage girl was seriously injured when the car they were riding accidentally rammed a town house’s concrete wall near a church on Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Crossing Silang West here, a police official said.
Supt. Danilo B. Buentipo, Tagaytay police chief, identified the fatalities as car driver Jamil Haron Ampuan, 22, and passengers Manilyn Bautista Quinzon, 23, Paysalin Benito, and Renilyn Gososo Penaranda, 20.
Injured was one Jelil Haron Ampuan, 16, Jamil’s sibling, also a car occupant.
Jamil, Manilyn, Paysalin and Renilyn were declared dead on arrival at Ospital ng Tagaytay (Tagaytay Hopsital). They all sustained body injuries.
Jelil, who suffered right leg fracture, was also brought to “Ospital” and transferred to another hospital.
Responding rescue team arrived in an ambulance. They brought the five victims to the hospital.
The team members found Jamil already lifeless behind the wheel of the wrecked car and Jelil crying in pain inside before the victims were brought to the hospital.
The Ampuan siblings and Paysalin hailed from Datu Ismael, a Muslim community in Dasmarinas City, Cavite, while Manilyn and Reinalyn from Barangay Salitran, also in Dasmarinas.
The five victims were riding the ill-fated blue Toyota Corolla car (UAK-825). The Christmas Day accident happened after Jamil reportedly lost control of the wheel as the car was traveling along the road near the famous Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Buentipo, citing a report of Police Officer II Semdan V. Sitchon, case investigator, said that the tragedy happened at 3:30 a.m.
