Stabbing suspect hunted by police

Manila, Philippines – Police are on a manhunt against a male driver who stabbed and severely wounded his Korean employer in Pasay City.

The suspect identified as Froilan Escarmosa, 37, immediately fled on foot after the incident.

SPO1 Genomar Geraldino identified the victim as 47-year-old Young Jun Lee, temporarily staying at Unit 1526-27, 15/F Tower B Solemare Park Suits, Macapagal Avenue, Paranaque City.

Lee remains under observation at the hospital due to multiple stab wounds on his right chest and left arm.

According to Geraldino, the incident happened while Lee was on board his Toyota Fortuner (UJQ-459) driven by Escarmosa traversing along Macapagal Avenue on their way to Cavite to look for his girlfriend, Raquel Mateo, who allegedly took money from him amounting to P4.4M but had reportedly paid back half of the amount.

During the investigation, Lee told police that he was conversing with the suspect telling the latter that if Mateo fails to pay the rest of his money, he will report the incident to the police and file charges against her.

To his surprise, Lee said upon hearing what he had just said, the suspect pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed him.

The suspect, on the other hand, took the key of the victim’s condominium unit and left his bloodied employer on the road.

Despite his injuries, the victim was able to alight from the vehicle where he was seen by cab driver Anna Marie Crisostomo who brought him to the San Juan De Dios Hospital and informed the police.

Follow-up operation is still being conducted by the police for the arrest of the suspect who remain at large. (Mitch Arceo)
