LWUA chief quits

Malacañang said yesterday that President Aquino has accepted the resignation of Rene Villa as acting chairman of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said Villa’s resignation was a “personal decision.”

The resignation of Villa, who reportedly was a lawyer of businesswoman Janet L. Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the P10-billion “pork barrel” scam, was effective November 30. (Madel S. Namit)
