Villar defends ‘pork’

Sen. Cynthia A. Villar said yesterday that her “pork barrel” (Priority Development Assistance Fund) projects during her nine-year stint as congresswoman of Las Pinas City followed the strict guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

Villar refuted allegations that her pork barrel funds for Las Piñas City were misused and wasted instead.

In fact, the projects funded by the pork barrel allocations resulted to millions of pesos in savings and award-winning projects, she said.

She emphasized that she has dedicated her PDAF allocations to programs and projects in her legislative district ‘’geared towards improving the living conditions of her constituents, particularly the less privileged.’’ (Mario B. Casayuran)
