Oct. 28 declared non-working holiday

President Benigno S. Aquino III has declared October 28, Monday, as special non-working holiday to allow voters to participate in the barangay elections. The holiday declaration was contained in Proclamation No. 656 signed by the President last September 25.

“It is important to give the people the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right to vote,” the proclamation read.

The proclamation, which noted that the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections shall be held on October 28, was issued before the President’s decision to defer the SK polls. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
