Vice President Jejomar C. Binay asked housing and subdivision developers yesterday to help the government build homes for some 15,000 families displaced by the conflict in Zamboanga City.
Binay, chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), made the appeal during the 22nd Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) National Developers Convention and General Membership Meeting in Makati City.
Binay said that the conflict between the government and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) had rendered some 15,000 families homeless. “Given the limited resources that we have, we need to work together with the private sector to rebuild their homes,” Binay said. (JC Bello Ruiz)
