Tricycle driver shot

A tricycle driver was gunned down by a fellow driver past noon Tuesday in Quezon City during an altercation over the tricycle line.

Investigator PO2 Anthony Tejerero identified the victim as Romeo Dizon, 45, a resident of Lupang Pangako, Payatas A, Quezon City.

Dizon was shot in the head and died on the spot during the shooting incident that took place at past noon Tuesday at the tricycle terminal of Lupang Pangako.

Tejerero said they are now hunting down the suspect identified as Vicente Martona, also of Lupang Pangako.

The investigator learned that Dizon, an official of the tricycle organization there, accosted Mortano for skipping the tricycle queue. A heated argument later erupted between the two men with the suspect pulling out a gun and poked it at Dizon’s head.

Martona pulled the trigger but the gun didn’t fire. While Dizon was running away. The suspect fired, hitting him on the head. (Jeffrey Damicog)
