KIDAPAWAN CITY - Jail authorities in North Cotabato filed on Wednesday charges of drug trafficking against Jason James Arnaiz, an inmate at the Cotabato Provincial Rehabilitation Center at Amas Complex who was caught selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or otherwise known as shabu inside the penitentiary.
Jail officers led by Senior Jail Officer Edwin Pa-alisbo immediately handcuffed Arnaiz while in the act of receiving a mysterious package, which contained shabu with a market value of P80,000.
The drugs were placed inside a package full of chocolate bars, allegedly sent by his sister, Jennifer, whose address is in Iligan City.
Guards said informants, most of them prisoners, tipped off Arnaiz’s drug trafficking inside the jail.
When a package for Arnaiz arrived on Monday, they let the suspect opened it and found chocolate bars inside. But when they checked what’s inside the chocolates, they found shabu. (Malu Cadelina Manar)
