National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Marcelo Garbo announced the deployment of policemen from the Quezon City Police District as well as from the Eastern Police District around the EDSA Shrine to ensure the peace and order conduct of the “EDSA Tayo” prayer vigil.
Garbo said that policemen also confiscated placards of some militant group marching at the EDSA Shrine who joined the prayer vigil.
The NCRPO chief said that the confiscation of placards was made basing on the agreement of the police and organizer of the “EDSA Tayo” event because the activity made was prayer vigil and not a protest. He said that the holding of the prayer vigil remained generally peaceful. (Jean Fernando)
