PBA Commissioner Chito Salud announced today the verdict concerning the altercation that occurred last Wednesday in the game between the San Mig Coffee Mixers and the Globalport Batang Pier held at the Cuneta Astrodome.
San Mig Coffee’s Marc Pingris and Globalport’s Kelly Nabong have been suspended for two games each and fined P60,000.00 each for their brawl during the 8:11 mark of the third quarter of their match.
Additionally, Joe DeVance has been suspended as well for one game and fined P30,000 for triggering the melee when he shoved Mavin Hayes. This marks the third time that DeVance has been involved in other scuffles, the last one of which involved Alaska rookie Calvin Abueva during a tune-up match.
Hayes was assessed a P20,000.00 fine as well for his flagrant foul penalty 2 on Mixers import Marquis Blakely.
