All preparations is set for the staging of the third edition of the Metropolitan Chess Club Amateur Chess Tournament which reels off on Sunday, September 15, at 10:30am at Walter Mart Sucat in Parañaque City.
The one-day event is open to newcomers, beginners, unrated and rated players with NCFP rating not over 1850 below, regardless of ages and sexes. It will apply the seven-round Swiss system and time control of twenty minutes in selecting the top ten major winners and five category top performers.
At stake is a total pot worth P15,000.00 with the champion getting the top prize of P4,000. The cash prizes are broken down to ten places. Consolation award of P500 awaits the top kiddies 12-under & 16-under; best unrated, best lady and best senior. Four gift certificates will also be raffled among the participants.
Donors for this monthly event are US-based philanthropist Rosita Lee of Las Vegas and the F&B Glass, Aluminum Supplies & Services Corp.
