CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – The murder of marketing agency executive Kristelle “Kae” Davantes remained a mystery four days after her body was found in a shallow river in Silang, this province.
As of Wednesday noon, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) and the Silang police said that there was no suspect yet and that the car – a metallic silver-grey 2011 Toyota Altis car (PIM-966) – driven by 25-year-old bachelorette Davantes remained missing.
This developed as Senior Supt. Alexander D. G. Rafael, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, and Supt. Dario G. Rojas, Silang police chief, met with Taguig police officers Wednesday and had discussed the progress of Davantes’ case and the operation plans in connection with the incident.
The meeting was held Wednesday at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Taguig.
“We will be meeting there (NCRPO). But for now, we have no suspects yet and that the car (of the victim) has not been recovered yet,” Rafael told this reporter before leaving this camp for the meeting.
Rojas also claimed the same in another interview on Wednesday morning. “Wala pa, ganun din,” Rojas said. (None yet, it is still the same (referring to the progress of the case).
Davantes was last seen driving her car by three friends, including her boyfriend, from the parking area of her office at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig past 1 a.m. Saturday after a night out also near the area.
Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Jesus Gatchalian, Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A director, has asked Rafael to invite for questioning the confidante of Davante or the office workers close to her.
“The confidante and close office workers might give an input which can help in the ongoing investigation,” Gatchalian said.
In an interview, Gatchalian said that he is looking into two angles as the attack motive which are robbery and carnapping, and personal grudge.
A report said that aside from her car, Davantes’ handbag, iPhone and Blackberry, were also missing.
Silang police investigators said that they believed that Davantes, with her ring intact, was killed elsewhere before her body was dumped in the river. The crime may have been perpetrated by at least two persons.
The PPO commander said earlier there is a possibility that Davantes was killed by someone known to her.
