Another batch of 14 informal settler families from Maricaban, Pasay City was resettled to give way to the site development of the new Corazon C. Aquino National High School.
City Mayor Antonino Calixto said the resettled families voluntary left their homes and have agreed to be relocated to the National Housing Authority (NHA) housing project in Aguado, Trece Martires, Cavite City. Calixto said that the latest relocation of informal settlers was already the second batch of families affected by the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway Project Phase II last August 16.
The mayor also extended P5,000 financial assistance to each family while the NHA provided their new homes where they are now staying for free. Calixto said that they will only start paying the monthly rental of P200 after a year of the informal settlers’residency in Cavite. (Jean Fernando)
