Ten human trafficking victims bound for Russia were stopped by immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from leaving the country.
Bureau of Immigration (BI) officer-in-charge Siegfred Mison said the passengers were about to board a Qatar Airlines flight to the Russian capital city of Moscow when they were intercepted last September 9.
Mison said the apprehension should again serve as a warning to would-be Overseas Filipino Workers against attempting to leave without the required overseas employment permits from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). (Jun Ramirez)
