DR. Vicki Belo, the country’s very own Ambassadress of Beauty and Doctor to the Stars, joined thousands of Filipino-Americans at the Martinez Waterfront Park in California, USA to celebrate the annual Adobo Festival.
Dr. Belo was awarded “The Most Trusted Brand by Filipinos Worldwide”. Dr. Belo gave a talk on beauty for an audience of over 10,000 expatriate Filipinos who flocked to the event. Also present was actor and model Derek Ramsay, a longtime endorser of Belo Medical Group, who was also awarded “The Most Popular Actor and Celebrity Endorser 2013” in the same occasion.
“It’s always a pleasure to be in a gathering of Filipinos and Filipino families,” Dr. Belo fondly shares. “There’s never a shortage of laughter, fun and great food. California is the most populous US state and is home to more than half of the entire Fil-Am population in America. Everyone gets a chance to get together and celebrate all the things they miss about living in the Philippines and love about being Filipino.”
Derek, who graciously accommodated hundreds of Fil-Ams who lined up at the Belo Medical Group and TV5 booths during a five-hour autograph-signing and photo-op session, won the hearts of our kababayans there.
The Adobo Festival was founded in 2006 by Joey Camins, a Filipino businessman. After earning the unanimous endorsement of the Bay Area Centennial Fil-Am Committee, the Adobo Festival became an annual event.
Instead of holding the festival in just one location, JS Camins Productions decided to bring it around the Bay Area. Among these venues are Daly City, Newark, San Jose, Stockton, Sacramento, Vallejo, Milpitas, and in Martinez, just outside of San Francisco.
Another Adobo Festival celebration was also recently held at the Kennedy Park in Union City, CA. The Adobo Festival also features two days of non-stop entertainment with local performers and popular Filipino celebrities.
