DAVAO CITY – Surigao City was hit by a 4.3-magnitude tremor at 1:57 a.m. yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake’s epicenter was traced at 15 kilometers northwest of Surigao City with a depth of 28 kilometers and tectonic in origin.
Intensity 5 was felt by residents of Surigao City, Phivolcs added, while Intensity 2 was recorded in the towns of Sison, Placer and Taganaan in Surigao del Norte, and Intensity 2 in Malimono, Surigao del Norte.
No damages were reported by authorities as of press time. (Alexander D. Lopez)
