Light to moderate rains will affect Luzon today due to a monsoon trough prevailing over the area.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area (LPA) that it was monitoring east of Baler, Aurora has dissipated. However, a monsoon trough will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Luzon, particularly its western section.
It said a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or northeast of the country will likely enter it briefly this morning.
The tropical cyclone with international name “Man-yi“ is inching closer to Japan and may enhance the effects of southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat“ over the western part of the Philippines. Should it enter the country, it will be named “Odette.“ (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
