Cops relieved over murder case

Two policemen of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) were relieved yesterday following a murder case filed against them for their involvement in the killing of a “kwek-kwek“ vendor recently.

Superintendent Eleazar Matta, commander of QCPD’s Police Station 6, said relieved from their present assignment were PO3 Allan Formilleza, 40, and PO2 Clifford Fagsao, 32.

Formilleza and Fagsao, both assigned at the Police Station 6, were relieved after a murder case was filed against them before the city prosecutor’s office Friday afternoon.

The police official said the two accused have surrendered their service firearms to him and will be brought to the administrative holding at the QCPD headquarters in Camp Karingal.

Matta said that the two policemen are also facing administrative charges for grave misconduct and if found guilty for their offense, they will be dismissed from the service.

Formilleza and Fagsao have been identified by a witness as the persons behind the death of kwek-kwek (quail egg) vendor Ramil Atibagos, 34.

The inciddent took place at around 10:42 a.m. September 7 at the footbridge near the Megacom Hardware located along Commonwealth Avenue, Barangay Old Balara.

Out of fear, Ramil’s older brother, Randy, only surfaced to the police last September 11 and positively identified the suspects as the persons who killed his brother. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
