A murder case was filed yesterday against two policemen after they were identified as the gun men who shot dead a “kwek-kwek“ (quail egg) vendor who charged them in July with robbery, illegal ar rest, physical injury, grave threats, and violation of domicile.
PO1 Julius Raz, investigator on case, said murder charges were filed yesterday afternoon before the city prosecutor’s office against PO3 Allan Formilleza, 40, and PO2 Clifford Fagsao, 32, both assigned to the Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) Station 6.
Raz said that the case was lodged against the two cops after a witness identified them as the motorcycle-riding men who killed Ramil Atibagos, 34, a resident of No. 182 Damayan St., Old Balara, Quezon City.
Ramil was gunned down while selling kwek-kwek at around 10:42 a.m. on September 7 on a footbridge near the Megacom Hardware located along Commonwealth Avenue, Barangay Old Balara.
Raz said that Ramil’s elder brother, Randy, was four yards away from the victim when the shooting incident took place and recognized the two suspects.
The investigator said that Randy only came forward to the police on September 11 for fear of his life since the suspects also saw him when they killed his brother.
In his sworn statement, Randy recalled that morning of September 7 he saw the suspects riding together a motorcycle towards the victim. Fagsao got off the vehicle and shot Ramil.
Randy told police that he knows the suspects because Ramil and the latter’s wife, Girly, filed last July charges of robbery, illegal arrest, grave threats, physical injury, and for violation of domicile.
