Believe it or not, a Moro woman has left behind a total of 247 descendants, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren.
She is Bai Ulan-ulan (Princess Moon) Canacan Kudanding, reportedly 105-years-old, of Barangay Ligaya, General Santos City.
A report written by Gandhi Kinjiyo for Luwaran.com, official website of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), said the Moro woman passed away on August 31.
The report said her 14 children gave her 107 grandchildren, 138 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren reckoned from 2011, for a total of 247.
One of her daughters, Marawi, sired 19 children.
Imam Datu Mantil Kudanding, her eldest son, said her mother used to have a diet of vegetable, fish, and coconut milk.
Her parents belonged to a Moro royalty, who were among the pioneering Maguindanaon datus of Sugoda Buayan, the old name of General Santos City, also known as Dadiangas.
The report said she beat in the Guinness Book of World Records a British couple with 99 descendants. (Edd K. Usman)
