A 77-year-old winner of Mega Lotto 6/45’s P32.8-million jackpot on Aug. 16 is giving back some of his winnings to his benefactors who continued to help him when he was down and out.
The lucky winner said that his relatives, who hired him to work at their store, still provide him with financial support even after his retirement 12 years ago. He intends to return the favor now that he is a millionaire. He said his winnings of P32,874,460 for matching the winning numbers of 6/45, 24-18-33-45-09-16 are kept in several banks.
“It is time for me to repay my relatives’ kindness to my family,“ the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) quoted him. He came to the PCSO on Aug. 23 with his six relatives to claim his winnings. PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II learned that the lucky bettor had a P100 bet on Aug. 16, his numbers from his analysis of lotto results. (Edd K. Usman)
