The Philippine National Police (PNP) will soon be open to non-college graduates.
But Director General Alan L.M. Purisima, PNP chief, said that the plan is only for those who will graduate from the government’s K+12 education program which is now aggressively being pushed by the Department of Education (DepEd).
Purisima said the move is to level the playing field for the children of poor families who cannot afford to send them to college. “But they have to pass all the examinations, including the entrance test that is being done by the Napolcom (National Police Commission),“ said Purisima. Should their proposal be approved by Congress, Purisima said they will only provide a certain number of slots for the K+12 graduates.(Aaron B. Recuenco)
