Pasay stabbing

A 32-year-old man is now facing a frustrated murder charge after attempting to kill a male victim in Pasay City early yesterday morning.

Suspect Eugene Rogel Jr., 36, jeepney driver, of Bgy. Magallanes, Makati City, was charged before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office for stabbing Antonio Lagaret, 32, also a jeepney driver, of Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Investigation disclosed that the incident happened at about 3:00 a.m. while Lagaret and his cousin, Lyod Manatad, were on their way home after watching a game at a billiard hall in C. Jose Ext., Malibay, Pasay City.

Upon reaching S. De Guzman St., Rogel suddenly appeared and blocked Lagaret’s way and stabbed the victim on the throat.

The victim fell bloodied on the ground while Rogel fled on foot but was chased by Manatad that caught the attention of patrolling policemen. Rogel was eventually arrested and brought to the police station. (Mitch Arceo)
