says Pacman on Floyd’s demands

Manila, Philippines – Sounding very frustrated and disillusioned, Manny Pacquiao said yesterday that he is starting to lose hope on making a fight with Floyd Mayweather, who insists on making ludicrous demands as efforts continue to save it from completely going down the drain.
Pacquiao was amused when he learned about Mayweather’s newest – and outlandish – pitch.
“He said he will guarantee me $40 million but I won’t have any share on the pay-per-view and other sources of revenue,” said Pacquiao, who immediately turned down the offer, stressing that it is smaller than the guarantee he will receive from the Bob Arum-owned promotional outfit Top Rank.
“How can he leave me out of the pay-per-view when I generate more than him in pay-per-view sales?”
Pacquiao drew 1.4 million buys when he faced Juan Manuel Marquez in their rubber match in November last year while Mayweather only got 1.25 million hits when he met Victor Ortiz two months earlier.
Last week, Pacquiao received a call from Mayweather and the unbeaten American puncher urged him to face him in what should go down as the richest fight in the history of the sport.
In the brief conversation, it was Mayweather who did all the talking but Pacquiao said he made it clear to his caller that he will not yield from his 50/50 stance.
Less than 24 hours after they talked, Mayweather told ESPN Sportscenter that there is no way he will give in to Pacquiao’s equal sharing scheme, citing that the Filipino would still end up earning the biggest paycheck of his career if it’s Mayweather that he will be fighting.
As a Mayweather match begins to look bleaker and bleaker, Pacquiao said he won’t hesitate to resort to his solid backup plan: a June 9 rematch against Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.
But Pacquiao is still keeping his fingers crossed.
“I am still praying that Mayweather gets enlightened because I believe that I am not being unreasonable.”
