Starting from Lopez Avenue: a) PUJ going to Sucat Highway shall take the inner lane; b) All vehicles bound to Manila Memorial Park (MMP) shall take the middle and outer lanes; c) All other vehicles bound to Sucat Highway and Loyola Memorial Park (LMP) may turn right to Lopez Ave. as alternate route.
Coming from Sucat Highway area President’s Avenue going to Baclaran: a) All vehicles bound to MMP shall take the inner and middle lanes; b) All other vehicles and PUJ bound to Baclaran shall take the outer lane or take President’s Avenue instead and turn right to corner Aguirre until El Grande to Exit at Lopez Avenue.
The following are designated as alternate routes: Jackielou Ville (coming from President’s Avenue) through Doña Irenea Ave. (Ireneville Subd.) for those going to Sucat (to exit near Caltex) for October 31 and Nov. 1, 2012 only.
According to City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, part of “Oplan Kaluluwa 2012”, traffi c re-routing is in anticipation of the infl ux of people to the memorial parks in the city.
Bernabe said that the scheme implementation will be handled by the City Traffi c Management Office headed by Traffic Chief Luis Perez II.
“It is our utmost priority to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of persons on these holidays. We encourage everybody to comply with regulations, cooperate with traffic enforcers and other authorities and maintain safety consciousness,” Bernabe said.
The mayor also instructed the City Health Office and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to set up first aid/lost-and-found stations inside and outside the memorial parks.
Bernabe also directed the local police and concerned barangay government units to increase visibility in the streets where pickpockets may lurk and in the communities where “akyat bahay” members may do a heist.
He said that the City Bureau of Fire Protection was also told to go on heightened alert. (Jean Fernando)
