P13.6-M farm-to-market road

Philippines – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over a P13.6 million farm-to-market road to farmers in Laguna, which will significantly improve the transportation of goods to the market.

The two-kilometer road was turned over to the local residents of Galalan and Saray Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) in Pangil, Laguna last September 19. Marlon Talavera, chairman of the Galalan/Saray ARC, said horses used to be the only means of transportation during good weather conditions in their village. But during rainy season, the folks usually went up and down the mountainous village on foot. (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
