Manila, Philippines – DESPITE her busy schedule, Jessica Sanchez enjoys her stay in Manila, along with the “American Idol” Season 11 champ and finalists.
Jessica, addressing her over 800,000 followers on Twitter, wrote: “Haven’t been on in a bit. Miss and love you guys! Having so much fun Manila ;).”
On Wednesday, she and “Idol” finalists DeAndre Brackensick, Heejun Han, Elise Testone, and Erika Van Pelt, held a mall tour for their fans at the Eastwood Mall in Quezon City. This, as “Idol” champ Phillip Phillips and the other finalists, including Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, and Hollie Cavanagh, met up with their fans at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati.
On Thursday, Jessica’s group held a meet-and-greet with their fans at the Alabang Town Center, while the group of Phillip, who turned 22 on the said day, dropped by the Venice Piazza in McKinley Hill on the same day.
The whole “Idol” gang also performed for their Filipino fans for the first time at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on September 21—their sole concert in Asia.
TV appearances
Jessica made a special appearance on “Fashbook” Wednesday night. In this GMA News TV fashion magazine show, she gave a lucky fan a free makeover. She also shared some of her personal style philosophies.
The following day, she visited “Eat Bulaga” studio. During her stint at the GMA show, she obliged to host Allan K.’s request for a duet. They sang a few bars of the Jennifer Holiday classic, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” which was one of her most memorable renditions on “Idol.”
Asked about her experience in her mother’s home country so far, the Filipino-Mexican-American singer said: “I haven’t been able to go out much ‘coz [of] the craziness that’s going on, but everybody’s been so nice and friendly with all of us.”
She admitted that she has received offers to do a solo show in the country.
But “nothing’s confirmed yet.”
She added, “I would love to come back and sing for all of you guys again.” (Bulletin Entertainment Online)
