‘Bwakaw’ off to Tokyo filmfest

Manila, Philippines – JUN Robles Lana’s opus “Bwakaw” will be competing at the 25th Tokyo International Film Festival under the Winds of Asia-Middle East – Film Panorama of Asia-Middle East category.

The film will be pitted against 16 others, as listed in the official website: “Perfect Game” by Park Hee-gon; “Doomsday Book” by Kim Jee-woon and Yim Pil-sung; “Sleepless Night” by Jang Kun-jae; “Full Circle” by Zhang Yang; “Don’t Expect Praises” by Yang Jin; “Love in the Buff” by Pang Ho-cheung; “Floating City” by Yim Ho; “The Soul of Bread” by Kao Pin-chuan and Lin Chun-yang; “Touch of the Light” by Chang Jung-chi; “Sweetheart Chocolate” by Tetsuo Shinohara; “I Carried You Home” by Tongpong Chantarangkul; “Agneepath” by Karan Malhotra; “Him, Here After” by Asoka Handagama; “Lifeline” by Mohammad Ebrahim Moayyeri; “Night of Silence” by Reis Çelik; and “Student” by Darezhan Omirbayev.

The winner of the Best Asian Film Award will be chosen from this section by jury members Harumi Nakayama (cinema journalist), Koichi Kawakami (director of photography), and Koichi Kawakami (director). It will also be given a cash prize worth $10,000. (Bulletin Entertainment Online)
