Manila, Philippines – All roads lead to Marikina for the 2012 Batang Pinoy the country shoe capital is hosting for the first time on Sept. 17 at the at the former Rodriguez Sports Center.
Closed to 700 athletes are taking part in the seven days competition which features 19 sports organized by Philippine Sports Commission and backed up by Philippine Olympic Committee.
At stake are archery, athletics, arnis, badminton, basketball, baseball, boxing, chess, Cycling, karatedo, lawn tennis, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, gymnastics, futsal, softball, dance sports, football, and pencak silat.
“We are expecting new heroes and heroines will surface in the tournament,” said PSC Chairman Richie Garcia. (Clyde Mariano)
