Manila, Philippines – Several fire trucks had to be utilized to help siphon off some 15-feet of flood waters from the Recto underpass in Manila after diesel-run water pumps from the Metro Manila Development Authority bonked down early yesterday morning.
As of noon yesterday flood waters in the said tunnel have receded to around 7 to 8 feet. Meanwhile, Manila’s Lagusnilad Tunnel, which was also closed due to flood waters, has already been rendered passable to all types of vehicles. (Rizal S. Obanil)
