Snoop wants to judge ‘Idol’

IF Randy Jackson yells “Yo Dawg!“ during the next season of “American Idol,“ he could be talking to Snoop Dogg, if the rapper has his way.

After hearing of the millions of dollars “Idol“ judges earn on the Fox competition, Snoop, in an interview this week, said: “I’ll do `American Idol.’“

“Idol“ returns in January. Mariah Carey is filling one of the two seats made available following Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler’s exits last month. When told Carey is earning about $18 million a year for a one-year contract with a renewal option, Snoop looked to his manager and jokingly yelled: “Get on it!“

Neil Schubert, spokesman for “American Idol“ producer FremantleMedia North America, declined to comment on any speculation about potential new judges.

Taping on episodes that include the judges doesn’t start until fall, so the show has time to continue its search. The show is conducting its mass auditions now that are done without the judges. (Huffingtonpost.com)

    Iu2019m all for Snoop being a judge on American Idol. He has what it takes right along side Mariah and I think the both of them would make AI a hit. Iu2019m curious what the show would be like if Snoop does get to be a judge. Iu2019ve watched the show a few years and one thing Iu2019ve learned is you never know what to expect. I watch AI after itu2019s recorded on primetime and I can go back and play it commercial free a day after itu2019s recorded. Iu2019ve had the hopper for awhile and the Auto Hop feature makes a great addition to PrimeTime Anytime. It’s only compatible with PrimeTime Anytime recordings the day after they air, but it works out great for me, since I watch PrimeTime networks more than anything. Iu2019m glad my coworker at Dish told me about this great new feature, which saves me a ton of time not watching commercials. This will also save me money on batteries since I wonu2019t use it as often.
