CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite - An off-duty Northern Police District (NPD) bus marshal and two other passengers lost their cash and personal belongings to a group, including two women, during a holdup inside a UV Express van late Tuesday night along Coastal Road in Barangay Zapote V, Bacoor City.
Robbed were Police Officer I Reymond Lacrete Belarma, 29, a resident of Circuferential-4 Road, Barangay Bagumbayan North, Navotas City; one Perfecto III B. Casis, 23, a Teletech-Mall of Asia (MoA) call center agent, of Balagtas Extension, Barangay Pamplona, Las Piñas City and Ron Ryan G.Tiamzon, 20, a Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila student, of Sto. Cristo Extension, Barangay 69-Zone 6, Tondo, Manila.
Belarma is reportedly a member of NPD Public Safety Battalion assigned as bus marshal in Caloocan-MalabonNavotas-Valenzuela (Camanava) area. He lost his .9mm Berreta service pistol in the holdup perpetrated by five unidentified men, including the driver, and two females in a white Toyota Revo with UV (Utility Vehicle) Express marking at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The policeman and the two other victims were dumped on a road in Parañaque City by the van-riding group after a one-hour travel round.
Police Officer II Michael Legaspi Jr., case investigator, said that the group made off with the victims’ cash and valuables amounting to P24,000.
It was the second time in one week that a police officer was robbed in Bacoor and Imus Districts.
The other victim was one Chief Inspector Bonato Santos Valenciano of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) who lost a .9mm Smith and Wesson pistol, two magazines and a cellphone worth P20,000 to a robber who broke into his house at Block 4, Lot 4 Green Estate I Subdivision, Barangay Malagasang I-G, Imus, last Friday night.
