Manila, Philippines – Seven Filipinos, led by Mark Eddiva, leave for Vietnam to compete in the 8th Asian Wushu Championship from Aug. 21-25 at Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
Joining the delegation supported by the Philippine Sports Commission are Denbert Arcita, Daniel Parantac, Benjo Rivera, Joan Domingo, Marianne Mariano, and Mary Jane Estimar.
Handled by former world champion Samson Co and Chinese coach Ma Qing, the Filipinos, all veterans of the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia, will take on crack wushu specialists from 30 countries.
Eddiva won the gold and Domingo, Mariano, Arcita, and Parantac the silver during the last competition.
Eddiva, Parantac and Estimar will also see action in the 4th World Junior Wushu scheduled Sept. 17-25 in Macau.
Also competing are Jessie Aligaga, Amado Benito, Francisco Solis, Ernie Braca, Thornton Quency Ian Sayan, Eleazar Jacob, Eggelbert Addongan and John Keithley Chan.
