Manila, Philippines – ACTOR-turned-politician Isko Moreno recognizes that in terms of public recall, Cesar Montano, his rumored rival for the vice mayoralty post in Manila for the 2013 elections, has more leverage than he does.
But Moreno reiterated, in an article by PEP posted on July 17, that when it comes to “public service” he has enough achievements to boast of.
“In my own little way, eh, nagtatrabaho naman tayo at palagay ko eh napaglingkuran ko ang mga Manilenyo,” he said.
According to reports, Montano, who recently registered as a Manila voter, will run for office next year opposite incumbent Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.
Though the news remains unconfirmed to this day, Moreno maintains that he has no qualms should Montano decide to run against him.
“Kung sakali man, everybody is entitled to participate in an election, whether as a voter or isang gustong magsilbi bilang public servant. At the end of the day, ang taong bayan pa rin naman ang masusunod kung sino ang gusto nilang mamumuno sa kanila,” said he.
Montano was born in Sta. Ana, Manila, but he wasa registered voter in Bohol, where he even ran for a gubernatorial post back in 2010.
Although Moreno claims to be “ready” for his supposed opponent, he was nevertheless kind enough to wish Montano good luck.
“Pero I wish Cesar good luck. Basta ang alam ko, eh, kung gusto niyang tumakbo sa Manila. Eh, wala namang makakapigil sa gusto niyang ’yun kungdi siya mismo.” (Bulletin Entertainment Online)
