Dismantling billboards

Manila, Philippines – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was urged to dismantle oversized billboards along EDSA and other main thoroughfares in Metro Manila.

Quezon City Rep. Winston “Winnie” Castelo who filed a House Resolution, expressed worry that such billboards may be potential causes of death and damage to property as the typhoon season sets in. Castelo said the MMDA and local government units can file charges against the owners of the huge billboards because they have violated the National Building Code. (Rio Rose Ribaya)
