PBA: Menor fined and suspended again

Manila, Philippines – PBA commissioner Atty. Chito Salud penalized controversial Air21 Express enforcer Ogie Menor once again, fining the fiery former San Beda Red Lion P10,000 and suspending him for one game after incurring a flagrant foul penalty two on Meralco Bolts import Mario West.

Menor landed a “vicious” blow to the head of West without any chance of reaching the ball during their game yesterday in the third quarter. This resulted in a one-game suspension and a fine of 10,000 as relayed by Atty. Salud via text message this afternoon.

However at the final buzzer, another controversy ensued involving West. The Meralco import reportedly rushed to the Air21 dugout to look for Menor, who thankfully was not there to avoid things from getting out of hand. He was said to be having coffee somewhere else in the area.

West claimed that he was merely looking for Menor to tell him that “no harm was done” although a lot of the people who saw him rush to the Air21 locker room thought otherwise.

When asked on what he thought about West’s charging to their opponent’s (Air21) dugout, commissioner Salud had only three words to say: “Not too smart”.

West is scheduled to appear before commissioner Salud Friday. (Brian Yalung)
